Gary Pullins, BYU's seventh head baseball coach, ranked 16th among active NCAA Div. I baseball coaches with 913 wins upon retirement. He led the Cougars to seven WAC titles and nine NCAA Tournament appearances, earning him four District Coach of the Year awards and nine WAC Coach of the Year honors. In 1985, he was named ABCA/Diamond Coach of the Year. Pullins guided BYU to their only No. 1 ranking in 1983. As a player, Pullins helped BYU reach the 1968 College World Series. After graduating, Pullins spent five years with the Los Angeles Dodgers as both a player and a coach. He then returned to Utah, as both a coach and AD. Pullins served as ABCA president in 1998 and co-authored influential baseball books. Currently, he contributes to the ABCA's Board of Directors, Research Committee, and Hall of Fame Veterans Committees.
