Mark Johnson, former head coach at Texas A&M and Sam Houston State University, amassed a 1,043-564-3 (.649) record. Notable achievements include leading Texas A&M to two College World Series appearances and 13 NCAA playoffs, winning conference titles, and producing numerous winning seasons, including a school-record 58-7 in 1989. Johnson had 108 players drafted and 93 percent of his student athletes graduated. He served as chairman of the ABCA Board of Directors and was President in 1994. Honored with the ABCA Ethics in Coaching Award in 2009 and the Lefty Gomez Award in 2012, Johnson's accolades extend to multiple halls of fame, including the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame and Texas Sports Hall of Fame. His impactful career was recognized as a Southeastern Conference "Baseball Legend" in 2015.
