Ed Flaherty, begins his 39th season coaching the University of Southern Maine baseball team in 2024, he has led the Huskies to two NCAA Division III national championships and six World Series appearances. With a remarkable 1,116-511-4 record, Flaherty ranks third among active Div. III coaches in wins. He's earned multiple accolades, including NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year honors in 1991 and 1997 from the ABCA, along with numerous regional and conference Coach of the Year titles. As a former standout player at the University of Maine, Flaherty received numerous awards and was inducted into multiple sports halls of fame. His contributions to baseball extend beyond coaching, including serving as president of the ABCA in 1999 and now serves on the Board of Directors. Flaherty's dedication to the sport and his players has left a lasting impact on collegiate baseball.
