Keith Madison, Kentucky baseball's winningest coach, retired in 2003 after 25 seasons and 737 victories. His tenure produced 85 players who were drafted or signed professionally, including 17 Major Leaguers such as 2006 Cy Young Award recipient Brandon Webb. A former professional player, Madison transitioned to coaching after attending Western Kentucky University. At Kentucky, he became the third-winningest coach in SEC history before stepping down. Madison’s influence extends far beyond his accomplishments at Kentucky. He served as USA Baseball's pitching coach and has been inducted into multiple halls of fame. From 2019 to 2024, he served as Chairman of the Board for the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), furthering his legacy of leadership in the baseball community. He was also ABCA President in 2005 and received the prestigious Lefty Gomez Award in 2013 for his exceptional contributions to amateur baseball both nationally and internationally. Post-coaching, Madison has devoted himself to impactful work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and SCORE International, leading charitable efforts, including baseball missions in the Dominican Republic. His dedication to both the sport and humanitarian causes has solidified his enduring legacy in the baseball world.
