Chris Pollard, Duke University's 25th head baseball coach, has transformed the Blue Devils into a perennial contender since his arrival in 2013. Under his leadership, Duke has achieved historic milestones, including three NCAA Super Regional appearances (2018, 2019, 2023) and two ACC Baseball Tournament Championships (2021, 2024), both firsts in program history. Pollard has coached 46 Major League Baseball Draft picks, including several All-Americans and All-ACC selections, while spearheading a program-record 40-win seasons in 2018 and 2024. Beyond on-field success, Pollard’s legacy includes breaking Duke’s 55-year postseason drought in 2016, revitalizing the program’s recruiting pipeline, and overseeing record-breaking team performances in home runs, strikeouts, and fielding percentage. Before Duke, Pollard earned Coach of the Year honors at Appalachian State and Pfeiffer University, building each program into championship-caliber teams.
