Pro Skills Baseball Academy is looking for experienced and highly motivated baseball coaches to join our rapidly growing AAU travel baseball program. We are located in Hainesport, NJ and have been around for 10 years. We are owned and operated by a current MLB Scouting Director and former player Scott Hunter as well as former college national champion Ed Mitchell. Ideal candidate will have college and/or professional baseball experience including playing or coaching. Fall teams play a short season (Sept and Oct). All ages play 4 tournaments over the course of 6 or 7 weeks. Spring/Summer teams all train 2 days per week during the winter months (Dec – Feb). Non-High School teams practice and play from mid March to mid May. High School teams being to play after their school season is over. The season runs from June through early Aug including playing at Perfect Game in Georgia. We look to field competitive teams with high character and competitive individuals who put as much focus on learning and development as they do on winning. Almost all our coaches are non-parents and many of them earn additional money with winter training and private lessons. This year marks the Jersey Pilots 50th anniversary, holding the title of longest continually running team in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League. The ACBL is partially funded by MLB and sanctioned by the NACSB. The Head Coach (Field Manager), in coordination with the GM, is responsible for recruiting and maintaining a 26-man roster. BROADCASTER & MEDIA RELATIONS ASSISTANT: The North Adams SteepleCats of the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League seek a Play-by-Play Broadcaster and Media Relations Assistant for the 2019 season. The successful candidate will serve as the voice of the organization, and will produce written content for a variety of formats, including the media guide, press releases, game day program, public address scripts, both during and before the season. All games will be both audio and video broadcasted live over the Internet. The Broadcaster will be required to attend all 42 regular season, exhibition, and post-season games, attend all team functions, and travel to and from away games with the team. The candidate will be required to broadcast games by themselves as well as with the opposing team’s broadcaster. The candidate will be expected to conduct player and coach interviews, and set up and maintain the press box in preparation for each night’s contest. The media relations’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, weekly press releases, biographical write-ups for each player, Player and Pitcher of the Week Award press releases, public address announcements, post-game recaps, post-season articles, and feature articles and player bios in the media guide. The written material that is produced can and will be used on our web site, media guide, and distributed to a variety of media outlets. The General Manager will assign additional responsibilities and duties — primarily to assist the non-profit organization in day-to-day operations – as needed. Qualifications: Candidates must possess solid experience broadcasting athletic events, baseball preferred; have the ability to manage a broadcast booth; manage the audio and video technology; have the ability to serve as both color commentator and play-by-play broadcaster; demonstrate the ability to research contest participants in preparation for the game; and produce professionally written material. The successful candidate will be a person of integrity with high ethical standards and the ability to bring the game, plays, and stories to our fans with accuracy and excitement and will be required to follow the NECBL Code of Ethics Compliance Agreement as defined in the league’s bylaws. Coach Development Internship – Wareham Gatemen (Wareham, MA) Summary: The Wareham Gatemen Organization is looking for three (3) Coach Development interns who will be primarily responsible for assisting the Coaching Staff with day-to-day tasks. The position will run from June 1, 2019 – August 15, 2019 (or end of season). Reports to: Field Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Attend all Gatemen games. • Assist coaching staff with on and off field duties; field maintenance, field prep, charting games, monitoring bus schedule and post-game meal schedule, monitoring community relations schedules, etc. • Maintain cleanliness of players’ club house, coach’s room, batting cages and training room. • Responsible for grounds crew duties and post-game laundry (compensation provided). • Any other tasks Field Manager requires A Note on Baseball Related Duties and Restrictions: The Coach Development interns must be pursuing a career coaching in collegiate or professional baseball.
