Youth Coaches Breakout Session

Presented by TeamSnap

The American Baseball Coaches Association is debuting a new Youth Coaches Breakout Session presented by TeamSnap at the 74th annual ABCA Convention in Indianapolis on Jan. 6, 2018. This one-day session will run concurrent to the ABCA clinics and will focus on topics for coaches of youth-level teams ages 8-14 years old. TeamSnap is the household name in integrated sports management.

“We are very excited to add this new element to the ABCA Convention and bring additional educational resources to coaches of youth teams,” said ABCA Executive Director Craig Keilitz. “Our Board of Directors has put an increased focus on the ABCA’s involvement with youth baseball and we are responding with initiatives like our Barnstormers Regional Clinics, adding a Youth Division Liaison Position in the ABCA National Office, and the new Youth Breakout Session. TeamSnap has a great reputation in the youth coaching community and is an ideal presenting partner for the Youth Breakout Session at the Convention in Indianapolis.”

The Youth Coaches Breakout Session is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 6 during the upcoming ABCA Convention and will be open to all coaches in attendance in Indianapolis. The tentative schedule is for the Youth Breakout Session to begin at 10:15 a.m. and include eight clinics specifically for coaches of youth baseball teams.

“Youth baseball coaches offer their time and effort to improve the lives of young athletes everywhere,” said TeamSnap Chief Growth Officer Ken McDonald. “This session is an excellent opportunity to give back to those coaches.”

Topics for the Youth Coaches Breakout Session include pitching, hitting, base running, defense, practice planning and program organization. Speakers and the specific titles for each session will be announced in September on the ABCA website. The breakout session will be located directly across the hall from the clinics and the ABCA Trade Show in the Indiana Convention Center.

Coaches who attend the Youth Breakout Session are also encouraged to attend other events during the four days of the ABCA Convention, including the general session clinics, the ABCA Trade Show, meetings, and awards celebrations.
