Henry "Hank" Majlinger

Henry W. ''Hank'' Majlinger coached the Central Connecticut baseball team for 30 years. With a career record of 353-166 (.680), his teams never had a losing season. 1965 district 1 baseball coach of the year. 1965 NCAA Merit award. Never had a losing baseball season in 25 years. Majlinger also coached football from 1948-59, the last six years as head coach. His 1954 team was undefeated. His baseball teams were 353-168 from 1949- 78 and had 27 consecutive seasons without a losing record. Majlinger, a standout football player at New York University in the 1940s, played in the 1946 Blue- Gray game and had a brief career with the New York Giants. He was also an accomplished badminton player and artist. An associate professor of physical education, Majlinger continued to teach at Central until his retirement in 1986 and was a charter member of the Central Hall of Fame. In 1987, the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance honored him with the Gold Key, the state's most prestigious athletic honor. He was also inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
