Coach Max Bishop was the Naval Academy baseball coach from 1938 to 1961. During his tenure at Navy, he accumulated a .681 winning percentage as his teams of Midshipman had a combined record of 306-143. In his final season as Navy's skipper, the ballclub went 24-2 marking a career best season win total.
In honor of Bishop, Navy's baseball stadium bears his name.
