In all, Bill Bock coached baseball in the state of Arkansas for 44 years. Bock spent 21 of those years at Pine Bluff High School, where he coached the Zebras to a 457-97 record and six state championships. He also coached three other state championship teams at St. Anne's, Texarkana and Sylvan Hills. Bock served as chairman of the executive board of the Arkansas High School Baseball Coaches Association and ABCA District VI chairman. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award at Subiaco Academy and the University of the Ozarks. Bock was inducted into the University of the Ozarks Hall of Fame and the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. He was also an Army veteran. Bock was named the National High School Coach of the Year last year by the American Baseball Coaches Association for Division II, which includes mid-sized schools across the country.
