In 45 seasons as head coach at Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, California, Guy Anderson led his teams to 927 wins, the most in Northern California high school history and second-most in the state of California as of 2015. Anderson reached the 900-win plateau during the 2014 season, becoming just the second coach in California state history to do so. During his career at Cordova, Anderson's teams won 15 league championships and five section championships in the California Interscholastic Federation Sac-Joaquin Section. Anderson coached 24 players who were drafted by Major League teams, including 2008 World Series Champion Geoff Jenkins and former Major League manager Jerry Manuel. In recognition of his accomplishments, Anderson has been inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame, the California Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the Rancho Cordova Sports Hall of Fame, and the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame. In 2003, he was voted “Master Coach” by Easton Sports. The longtime Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Cordova now serves as an assistant baseball coach at Capital Christian School in Sacramento, California.
