Bud Daniel, who served as Chairman of the ABCA Board of Directors from 1992-95, spent 20 seasons as the head coach of the University of Wyoming baseball team. During his tenure, Daniel guided Wyoming to its only College World Series appearance in 1956. He coached Wyoming to four Mountain States Conference Championships (1954, '55, '56, '61) and one WAC division title in 1966. Daniel coached 15 first team All-WAC selections. One of his most famous pupils and All-WAC performer was Art Howe, former Major League manager of the Houston Astros (1989-93), Oakland Athletics (1996-2002) and New York Mets (2003-04) A 1996 University of Wyoming Hall of Fame inductee, Daniel owns the Wyoming record for career coaching victories with 295. Daniel, the 1963 President of the ABCA, served as a member of the ABCA's Board of Directors and Hall of Fame Veterans Committee.
