Robert Wynn was the longtime head baseball coach at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida. Wynn started the program in 1958 after coaching the freshman team at Florida State. Wynn retired after 22 seasons at the helm, with 576 victories, seven Florida State Championships, five National Tournament appearances and three runner-up finishes in 1963, '68 and '72. He later served as the school's Athletic Director. Wynn's program produced 128 Major League players and 27 All-American players. Wynn coached baseball at the World Amateur Games in Nicaragua and helped organize the Florida Community College Activity Association. He was the first recipient of its Distinguished Service Award. Wynn is credited with helping build Florida's powerful junior college baseball system, which has become a successful feeder for the state universities and many of the Southeastern Conference schools. He has been instrumental in high national rankings for both junior college and college teams in the state of Florida. Wynn was inducted into the JUCO Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1988.
