Charles Kaiser was a teacher and coach at Oak Park River Forest High School for 48 years. He coached generations of players and is considered a legend in high school baseball. Kaiser holds the record for the most wins by a baseball coach in Illinois with his 892 wins. He guided Oak Park River Forest High School to the state championship in 1981 and won more state tournament games than any other baseball coach in Illinois. Kaiser has received numerous awards including being named Coach of the Century by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings in 2000. He has also been named to a number of Halls of Fame, including the IHSBCA, the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association, the National Federation of High School Coaches, the Oak Park Coaches and the River Forest Coaches Halls of Fame. In 1985, Kaiser was named Coach of the Year by the ABCA and the IHSBCA. He was also named Coach of the Year in 1989 by the Pitch and Hit Club of Chicago and is a three-time Summer League Coaches Coach of the Year. Kaiser was named Illinois Teacher of the Year in 2000.
