Dartmouth's Whalen elected by membership as incoming Fourth Vice President

Bob WhalenIn a vote by the ABCA membership, Dartmouth College head coach Bob Whalen has been elected ABCA Fourth Vice President for 2021. Whalen is a 40-year continuous ABCA Member and currently serves as the Sergeant-at-Arms for the ABCA’s Executive Committee as well as Chair of the ABCA/Wilson Lefty Gomez Award Committee.

Whalen was nominated for the position by the ABCA Board of Directors and confirmed via e-mail ballot by the ABCA membership. Whalen will assume his position as Fourth Vice President at the conclusion of the 2021 ABCA Convention. He will remain the Chair of the Lefty Gomez Committee and will continue to serve on the Executive Committee in his new role in addition to serving on the ABCA Board of Directors.

Whalen has been the head coach at Dartmouth University since 1990, following eight years as an assistant coach at the University of Maine under legendary coach John Winkin. Whalen has accumulated more than 600 victories in his Big Green career along with two Ivy League titles and 11 conference divisional crowns. In addition to his collegiate head coaching career, Whalen has managed the Chatham A’s of the Cape Cod Baseball League and spent the summer of 1997 as the Business Manager for Team USA.
